When it's done right

"The contemplation of things as they are, without error or confusion, without substitution or imposture, is in itself a nobler thing than a whole harvest of invention" Francis Bacon

The above quote was taped to the wall of Dorothea Lange's darkroom.

I hope this is fair use...gulp

  2. Angie wanted to post as a guest. Some reason she couldn't. So I asked her to send it to me:

"Well, I thought I’d tell you about my maternal grandfather. He was from an Irish travelling family. I’m told that they came to the west of England, must have been sometime in the 19th century, I don’t know when, then he ended up in west London. He worked as a costermonger in North End Road market in Fulham. He slept with his horse if it was unwell and after a drunken evening (most evenings I believe) he was slung on his cart and the horse took him home! One of his daughters, my Aunt Rose definitely seemed to have inherited something from him, she read tealeaves, cards and had a crystal ball!"

  3. Ah now you see it's easy there to tell that there's Irish in you from the fine picture you've painted with words there, Ange. They've only made the photograph better

Sure will you not do a weekly post for us on the blog?

Oh... go... on... go on... go... on go
