Thanks for the link Sean! Kindred spirits indeed!! They are right up my street :) Not heard of Klaus before.
You know, it's the 10 year anniversary of the LB pics, where we first became friends and aware of our pics. I loved your night scenes in Manchester! I remember spending the whole of 2005 shooting almost exclusively with the Lensbaby and am beginning to get that old feeling back again :) I have been thinking of revisiting them and re processing them (most were shot RAW), but then again that might not be a good idea. Perhaps start a fresh with new eyes so to speak :)
I remember you saying they were shot with jpeg. I used to switch between various raw converters but have long since standardised with Lightroom and really like it. Back then most of the LB shots were with the Fuji S3 and I have played round with some of the files in Lightroom, it's like a new discovery!
I had no thought for the morrow, Ken. Shooting at night in bars or on the street at F/1.4 at 1/30 sec iso 3200 (on a 20D) is not jpeg territory. Still, some of my best shots were taken that way (content wise )
I remember how they had a very big impact on me, like an explosion in my mind. I was all loved up with the lensbaby at that time :) I used to swear a lot on the comments I seem to remember (in a good way) :)

There has been big improvements in in RAW developers since then, Ken.
ReplyDeleteMost of those night shots were shot in jpeg and can't stand up to much editing. There's been no change there haha
10 years, Man.
